What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The Comprehensive Plan addresses a variety of community issues such as land use, transportation, housing, natural and historic resources, and community facilities and services. The plan addresses current conditions and desired future conditions by identifying strategies to manage growth through techniques such as preservation and conservation, designation of future growth areas and rural resource areas and identification of non-residential uses to insure an adequate tax base and provisions for appropriate public facilities. The plan will include short-term and long-term implementation strategies for the next 20 years. The plan will provide the basis for development and/or update of a variety of ordinances including, but not limited to, the Township's Zoning Ordinances and Zoning Maps and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.
