Planning Commission Workshop Meeting

As part of the planning review process, Fairview Township has instituted a Planning Commission Workshop meeting. The meeting is commonly attended by the applicant, their representative, the Township Engineer, a York County Planning Commission representative and the Township Codes Administration Director.  The purpose of the meeting is to review and discuss with the Applicant/Representative, the staffs preliminary TECHNICAL comments associated with the proposed plan. Any PLANNING comments are addressed with the Planning Commission at the regular meeting.

Attendance at the workshop meeting, while not required, will afford the applicant/representative an opportunity to make revisions to the submitted plan prior to the next Planning Commission meeting. This opportunity to revise the plans can ONLY be realized if the applicant/representative for the plan attends this meeting. If the plan is not represented at the workshop meeting, the originally submitted plans and all associated staff comments will be forwarded directly to the Planning Commission for their review.

The procedures and timelines on how a plan progresses through the reviews and meetings can be found HERE.

Fairview Township has found that representatives that take advantage of this workshop meeting have shortened the length of time for action by the Planning Commission on their proposed plan. These meetings are also held at the township building. Dates and times for those meetings can be found HERE.
